Malayan Tiger Cubs Born – level 2

01-12-2017 07:00

Two Malayan tiger cubs were born at Prague Zoo. This is unusual, as this subspecies of tiger does not breed successfully in captivity. Only two other zoos in Europe have successfully bred these tigers. One problem is that the males are too aggressive with the females.

The keeper of the cubs is positive about their survival. The zoo says that the mother and the cubs are all doing well.

There are only a few hundred Malayan tigers in the wild in Asia.

Difficult words: subspecies (a specific type of an animal), breed (have babies), captivity (in a zoo or other animal centre).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
