NASA astronauts spacewalk – level 2

08-12-2022 15:00

Astronauts Josh Cassada and Frank Rubio went for a spacewalk. The walk lasted more than 7 hours, and for both men, it was the longest spacewalk in their lives.

The astronauts traveled to the International Space Station in November 2022 to repair the station’s solar panels. The plan is to install six arrays of panels, and the astronauts recently installed the third and fourth ones.

The new panels will increase the station’s power by 30%, which is important for the station’s operations and scientific research. According to NASA, the station’s total power will be up to 215 kilowatts.

Difficult words: array (a group of similar things), total (the whole number or amount of something), kilowatt (a measurement of electrical power).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
