Oil-free Lego bricks – level 1
19-06-2024 15:00
Lego is a famous Danish toy company. They try to make their bricks without using oil-based plastics. But it does not work well. They have to stop. The new material makes more emissions than the material which they use normally.
The boss of Lego says that they cannot find a good enough material. But the company still wants to use good materials by 2032.
Lego starts trying this in 2020. It is hard because they need a material which does not harm the natural world. But at the same time, the material must look and sound like the old bricks.
Difficult words: brick (a small block for building houses), oil-based (using oil or materials which come from oil), emission (a small thing which gets in the air and makes it dirty).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What challenges is Lego facing in their goal to use sustainable materials by 2032?
