People die on a mountain – level 1

19 people climb on Mount Elbrus, Russia, last Thursday. A heavy snowstorm comes. The sky gets dark. It gets very cold. The climbers are surprised. They call for help. One woman feels sick. She and four other climbers die.
One man breaks his leg. Several others are hurt because of the cold. One man says that the weather changes very quickly. Nobody expects it.
Mount Elbrus is the highest mountain of the Caucasus Mountains in Russia. It is 5,642 meters high. It is a volcano. The weather changes quickly there. Between 15 to 30 climbers die on the mountain every year.
Difficult words: surprised (how you feel when something unusual happens), expect (to think that something will happen), volcano (a mountain with a hole at the top through which hot rock and stuff like smoke come out).
