Pokémon Day – level 2

06-03-2025 07:00

Pokémon Day happens every year on February 27th to remember the first Pokémon games. After 29 years, fans still love Pokémon.

At the Pokémon International Championships in London and a Pokémon store in Singapore, fans talked about why they enjoy it. Many started playing as children and now share Pokémon with their kids.

The CEO of Pokémon, Tsunekazu Ishihara, spoke about Pokémon’s future, a lawsuit with another game, and what happened to Ash Ketchum. Esports Director Chris Brown said Pokémon stays popular because it brings people together. Pokémon is one of Japan’s biggest brands, with valuable trading cards and many products. Some fans think Ash is relaxing, while others believe he is still traveling. Even after many years, Pokémon is still important to its fans.

Difficult words: CEO (the boss of a company), a lawsuit (a legal problem between two companies or people), valuable (worth a lot of money).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What factors contribute to Pokémon's enduring appeal, including its fan events, family traditions, leadership discussions, and varied views on Ash Ketchum?
