Prince Harry at court – level 2

13-07-2026 07:00

Prince Harry and six other famous people, including Elton John, lost a big court case against the publisher of the Daily Mail newspaper.

They said that reporters broke privacy laws by secretly listening to their phone calls and taking personal information for more than twenty years.

The newspaper company always said this was not true. Today, the judge dropped the case because the famous group didn’t have enough real evidence to prove their stories. The judge said that simply thinking something happened is not enough for a court.

This loss is very expensive for both sides. At the same time, Harry is visiting London alone. He wanted to stay at the royal palace, but the royal family said no because he didn’t ask in time. His wife and children stayed at home in the US.

Difficult words: privacy (your right to keep your personal life, feelings, and secret stories away from other people and the media), evidence (facts, objects, or information that show clearly that something is true or really happened), prove (to show that something is true).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What did the judge say was not enough for a court to decide the case?
