Protests in UK arms factories – level 1

12-12-2023 15:00

Factories in Europe make parts for Israel’s fighter planes. Israel uses these planes to attack Gaza.

Protesters in the UK stop four factories. The factories are in Bournemouth, Lancashire, Brighton, and Glasgow. The protesters want the UK to stop selling weapons to Israel. They want peace. Workers from different jobs, like health workers and teachers, join the protest. People ask the government to stop support for Israel.

Similar things happen in factories in France, Denmark, and the Netherlands. More and more people want the war to stop. People in Europe do not want to make weapons for Israel.

Difficult words: peace (the time when nobody fights), join (to become a part of something), support (help).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What countries in Europe have seen protests against supporting Israel's war efforts in Gaza?
