Russia and EU Elections – level 1

21-06-2019 15:00

In May, the EU holds elections to the European Parliament. Now the EU has a report. The report says that Russian groups try to change the elections.

The report says that the Russians do this in a few ways. They do not want a high voter turnout. They want to change how people vote. They want people to be angry.

The report says that social media companies help. However, more work needs to be done.

The report does not blame Russian leaders. It does not say if the elections are changed.

Difficult words: election (when people choose their leaders), voter turnout (how many people go to the election), blame (say that someone did something on purpose).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
