Slovakian PM assassination – level 3

Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico was shot in the town of Handlová, approximately 145km from the capital, Bratislava.

The incident, which was captured on video by broadcaster RTV Prievidza, shows Fico being shot by a man in the crowd. The shooter fired five shots, hitting Fico, who then fell to the ground before security personnel subdued the attacker. Fico was airlifted to Banská Bystrica and is in a life-threatening condition, according to officials.

The shooting happened outside the House of Culture in Handlová following a Slovak government meeting. The suspect has been detained by the police.
