SpaceX must return to Earth – level 2
19-01-2026 07:00
A SpaceX spacecraft left the space station early because one astronaut had a serious health problem. The crew had four people from the United States, Japan, and Russia.
NASA didn’t say who was sick because it wanted to protect the person. The crew stayed in space for about five months before the return.
The capsule left the station in the evening and flew back to Earth. It traveled for about ten hours and landed in the ocean near California. Cameras showed the spacecraft moving away while the astronauts sat inside in space suits.
NASA said this was the first time it ended a mission early for health reasons. Doctors on Earth can check the astronaut better. The crew leader said everyone felt fine, but the early return was the right thing to do.
Difficult words: crew (a group of people who work together on a ship or spacecraft), protect (to keep someone or something safe), capsule (a small spacecraft).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
How long did the capsule travel from the space station before landing in the ocean near California?
