Millions of people in Europe look at the sky to see a solar eclipse. The moon moves in front of the sun and blocks its light.
In Spain and Iceland, the sky becomes very dark, like night. In the UK, people see only a small part of the sun in the sky. Many people go outside together. They wear special glasses to stay safe. During the eclipse, the air gets cold, and the light is low. People are very happy and excited to watch this special event.
Experts say that this is a very rare day. People in the UK will wait a long time to see it again. The next solar eclipse will be in 2090.
