UK politician watches pornography in parliament – level 3

06-05-2022 15:00

After Neil Parish admitted that he’d watched pornography twice in Parliament, he told the BBC he was resigning as an MP.

On Friday, the Conservative Party suspended Parish over the allegations. Two female colleagues claimed they saw Parish looking at adult content on his phone. Parish said that the first time was accidental after he was looking at a website related to tractors; however, the second time was deliberate.

The MP apologized to his wife and family. He initially resisted calls to resign; however, under significant pressure, he changed his mind. He said he wouldn’t await the findings of the inquiry, and he would resign.

Difficult words: pornography (books, magazines, or films that show sexual acts or naked people), allegation (a claim that someone did something illegal or wrong), adult content (content that’s not appropriate for children).
