22-01-2024 07:00

Ukrainian President Zelenskiy urged the West to increase sanctions on Russia and increase support for Kyiv against Russia’s war.

Zelenskiy is concerned about Western hesitancy. He mentioned that Putin had bigger plans than win only in Ukraine. He also said that tighter sanctions were necessary, including on Russia’s nuclear sector. EU and NATO leaders promised that they would continue their support for Ukraine.

Zelenskiy hopes for more money from the EU, and he urged the US to help more. He pointed out that it was the strategically important to help Ukraine. Zelenskiy emphasized Western unity against Russia and why this was important for all world.

Difficult words: heistancy (if you don’t want to decide what to do, because the situation is too difficult or complicated), urge (to ask someone strongly to do something), strategically (in a way which is about plans and goals), unity (being as one).
