Victory Day Celebration – level 1

11-05-2017 15:00

This news is from Moscow. There is a big military parade. It celebrates Victory Day. On this day, Russia beats Germany and wins WWII.

The parade takes place on Tuesday 9th. People can see historic and new war machines.

Putin watches the parade with war veterans. He also lays a wreath outside the Kremlin. He gives a speech. He says that countries must work together to fight extremism.

Difficult words: military parade (when an army walks through the streets), veteran (an ex-soldier), wreath (a circle of flowers), extremism (when people do terrible things because of what they believe).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
