Virginia Gun Laws – level 1

21-02-2020 07:00

In Virginia, USA, some government officials want to pass a law. The law can stop the sale of some guns and gun parts. However, other officials vote against the law.

Virginia government officials are in an ongoing debate about gun control. They may pass other new laws. One law says that you can buy only one handgun a month. Another law says that the government needs to look at people’s histories when they buy guns.

Difficult words: pass a law (to start a new rule on what people can do in a certain place), ongoing debate (an argument that continues), handgun (a small gun that a person can hold with one hand).
