Weather changes where wine grows – level 1
05-03-2026 07:00
Wine needs stable weather to grow well. Climate change now brings quick weather changes.
In Chile, hot weather and little rain make grape farming hard. Farmers have less water. Some plants do not grow well. Big wine companies use new ideas to help their plants survive.
In Germany, warmer weather helps grapes grow better. Farmers can make good wine more easily now. But new problems can come, like strong storms and harmful bugs.
Climate change changes the world of wine. Some countries make more wine, and others make less. If farmers want to grow wine in the future, they must change how they work.
Difficult words: stable (when something does not change much), survive (to stay alive or continue to exist), harmful (when something causes damage or problems).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
How has climate change differently affected grape farming in Chile and Germany, and what measures are growers taking in each region?
