A new survey about gender roles caused debate online. Researchers asked more than 23,000 adults in 29 countries about equality between men and women. It shows that almost one-third of Gen Z men think a wife should obey her husband.
This number is much higher than for older men. Many people shared angry comments on social media after the results came out. The results show a big difference between young men and young women. Many young women want equality in family and work. Many young men say they prefer more traditional roles.
Experts say social media influencers and political messages may influence these ideas. They say men and women need to work together to create a fair society.
