Young people watch climate change meeting – level 1

01-11-2021 07:00

A big Climate Change meeting will be in Glasgow, Scotland. It will be at the end of October. World leaders will talk about how to stop climate change.

Greta Thunberg is a Swedish activist. She starts Fridays for Future in 2018. Fridays for Future is a group of young people.

They want to change governments and society. They care about the natural world. Thunberg is afraid that world leaders will only speak and do nothing.

Thunberg says that young people are watching government leaders closely. She says that the situation is very serious. Things must change quickly.

Difficult words: climate change (the situation when the world is getting warmer, and it brings many problems), activist (a person who wants to change government or things that people do), society (people who live together in an area).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
