Attack in Somalia – level 2

23-07-2019 07:00

In Somalia, a car full of explosives rammed into a hotel. Then gunmen ran into the building and started shooting.

More than 26 people died, and 56 were injured. Two of the people who died were Americans, and one person was a well-known Somali-Canadian journalist.

The attack took place on Friday 12th, and the extremist group al-Shabab claimed responsibility.

Difficult words: ram (drive/crash into), claim responsibility (say that you did something good or bad).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
