Baby Cuscus Bear – level 2

01-06-2018 15:00

In Poland, a cute little baby cuscus bear was born. The zoo is one from only four zoos in the world that has this animal kind.

The baby is the first cuscus bear born in a zoo. The bear is native to the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, and people do not know much about it. We do know that it eats leaves, however, and that it is a marsupial.

The little baby stays in its mother’s pouch. It sometimes leaves to have a look around. The cuscus family is in a private part of the zoo, so that they can be with their baby alone.

Difficult words: native (be originally from), marsupial (an animal like koala or kangaroo whose babies are born very small and move to their mother’s pouch), pouch (a bag on the mother’s body where the baby eats milk and is safe).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
