Baby elephant in Sri Lanka – level 1

29-11-2023 15:00

Hambantota is a port city. It is in Sri Lanka. There are hundreds of elephants there. They walk around freely.

A baby elephant walks near the main road. It falls into a drain. People find the elephant. They take it out. The elephant has a broken leg. They take it to a doctor.

Difficult words: port city (a city with a port – a place for ships), drain (a hole/a space in the ground where water goes if there is too much of it).

You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.

What efforts do the people take to ensure the elephant recovers?
