Big Explosion in Ukraine – level 2

02-10-2017 07:00

There was a fire in a Ukrainian town west of Kiev. The fire caused a massive explosion at an arms depot.

Thousands of people had to evacuate. Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said that ‘external factors’ were behind the fire. External factors may mean sabotage.

Some buildings where people live were damaged. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Difficult words: massive (very big), arms depot (a building where an army has weapons), sabotage (destroying something for political or military reasons).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
