Climbers break speed record – level 1

22-04-2025 07:00

Nicolas Hojac and Philipp Brugger are climbers. They climb three big mountains in Switzerland. They are called the Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau.

The men are very fast. They climb in 15 hours and 30 minutes. The old time is 25 hours. The two men break the record. They start the climb at 1 in the morning. They go up the first mountain in six hours. They move fast and do not stop for a long time. They think that they will need at least 19 hours, but they are much faster.

Brugger is sick before. But now he is okay. He is happy to climb with Hojac. They plan the climb for a long time. Now, they have a new best time.

Difficult words: climb (to go up), mountain (a very high hill), record (the best time ever).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

How many hours did it take them to climb the first mountain?
