David Lynch dies – level 2

21-01-2025 07:00

Famous director David Lynch died last week at the age of 78. His family shared the sad news on Facebook, saying there is now a big hole in the world. They also shared his words: ‘Keep your eye on the donut, not the hole.’

The cause of death is unknown, but David talked about his lung illness last year. People know Lynch for movies like Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive and for creating the show Twin Peaks.

Steven Spielberg, who worked with David in 2022, called him a visionary. For almost 50 years, Lynch’s work entertained and surprised audiences. His style inspired many other filmmakers. Fans will always remember his magical and creative storytelling.

Difficult words: cause (the reason why something happens), visionary (a person with creative ideas), audience (a group of people together in one place to watch or listen to a play, film, or someone speaking).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What are some of the notable works that David Lynch is known for, and how has his style influenced other filmmakers?
