Denmark’s post will not deliver letters anymore – level 1
05-09-2025 15:00
PostNord in Denmark will stop sending letters at the end of this year. People send fewer letters because they use phones and computers.
Many workers lose their jobs. PostNord creates new jobs to deliver parcels. People in Denmark use online mailboxes and apps to get messages. Some companies will deliver letters, but old people may have problems.
Letters go down in many countries, not only in Denmark. PostNord changes because people shop online and use digital messages. This shows how new technology can change old jobs and ways to send letters. The future of the post may look different in all countries.
Difficult words: deliver (to bring letters or parcels to someone), parcel (a box which someone sends to you), online mailbox (a place on the internet where you get letters or messages).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
How have digital communication tools and the rise of online shopping changed PostNord’s operations and workforce?
