Disney parks are expensive – level 1

04-02-2026 07:00

Disney parks start as a fun place for families. But prices go up very much over time. A ticket that once costs a few dollars now costs over 150 dollars. Food like ice cream costs more than 6 dollars. A ticket for one year costs over 1,600 dollars.

Disney says that it pays workers more and builds new rides. Fans see prices go up every year. Some families stop going often. Others save money for one big trip.

Disney also sells new things. People pay a lot to skip lines or stay in very nice hotels. Rich people buy these more. Many fans still love Disney, but it is not so easy to go there anymore.

Difficult words: ride (an attraction you sit in, like a roller coaster), fan (someone who really likes something), skip (to not do something or pass over it).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

How have families adjusted their Disney park visit plans in response to rising ticket and concession prices?
