Fire in Rome – level 1

17-12-2018 07:00

This news is from Rome, Italy. There is a landfill site. It gets on fire. The fire grows quickly. Toxic smoke goes into the air. Firefighters try to stop the fire.

People must close their windows. They must not eat local food. There is a special meeting about waste build-up.

Difficult words: landfill site (a site/place where people bury waste materials – things that you throw away), toxic (dangerous or poisonous), build-up (when there is a build-up of something, there is too much of it and people must do something about it).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
