22-04-2024 07:00

Germany’s leader Olaf Scholz goes to China. Things are not good between Europe and China.

Scholz and Chinese Premier Li Qiang talk about how both countries need each other. They do a lot of business together. China’s leader says that the business must continue. Last year, Germany makes a plan. The country does not want to depend too much on China.

Scholz also talks about an attack on Israel by Iran. It is important to stay calm. He also talks about the war in Ukraine. Scholz says that it is important to be sensible with China. It is not clear if things will get better.

Difficult words: continue (to not stop), depend (to need something or someone), sensible (when you understand a situation and react well to it).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What topics did Scholz and Li Qiang discuss during their meeting in China and how does Germany's plan to reduce dependence on China impact their relationship?
