Gold is expensive – level 3

15-10-2025 07:00

In times of crisis and global instability, investors often look for safe places to put their money, and gold has once again become the most trusted option.

Its price recently hit a record high of over 4,000 dollars an ounce, as political tension, inflation, and debt concerns push people toward reliable assets. Many countries, including China and Japan, are buying more gold to protect their currencies and reduce their dependence on the US dollar. Experts say that gold’s rise is linked to fear and uncertainty in world markets. Factors such as wars, inflation, and unstable governments have made investors less confident in traditional systems. Even central banks are turning to gold as a safe haven.

Although gold has little practical use compared to metals like silver, its emotional, cultural, and symbolic value continues to drive demand. Some experts warn prices could fall, but for now, gold remains the ultimate symbol of security.

Difficult words: asset (something valuable that you own), safe haven (a place or thing that keeps you safe from danger or problems), ultimate (the best, most important, or final example of something).

Despite its limited practical use, what aspects of gold continue to drive its demand?
