Guns become steel

Authorities in Colombia seize more than 29,000 guns. These guns belong to criminals. Criminals kill people with these guns.

Workers melt the guns. They heat them. They turn them into steel. They use this steel to build houses. People with low income will live in these houses.

One soldier says that he is very happy about the work. It is important. Something that kills people instead will help them.

Difficult words: seize (to take something and keep it), steel (a strong grey metal which people use to build things), income (money which a person gets for work).
