Moldova has new elections. The party of President Maia Sandu wins more than half of the votes. The name of her group is PAS. This party wants Moldova to join the European Union.

The other group gets less than 25%. This party wants to be friends with Russia. Sandu says that Russia wants to change the vote. European leaders congratulate Sandu. They think that Moldova must stay free.

Moldova is a small and poor country, but it is important. It is next to Ukraine and Romania. A place called Transnistria in Moldova has Russian soldiers. People in Moldova choose to stay close to Europe.

Difficult words: elections (when people vote to choose leaders), party (a group of people with the same ideas about how to run a country), congratulate (to tell someone that you are happy because they do something well).
