Nigeria Dog Festival – level 2

Dog lovers in Lagos celebrated the annual Lagos Dog Carnival. Something like that is not easy in a country where some people still eat dog meat.
Jackie Idimogu organized the festival and his main idea was to change people’s view on dogs and point out that dogs need love and care. There were various breeds, such as American Eskimos and French Bulldogs, dressed in colorful outfits. Pasha, a six-year-old Caucasian Shepherd mix, won the title of Dog of the Year.
Idimogu said that he wanted to inform people about good pet care. The event was a good opportunity for dog lovers to meet and share their tips on how to look after dogs well.
Difficult words: breed (a type of animal or plant), outfit (clothes which you wear together), opportunity (a situation when it is good to do something).
