Paris Agreement and Trump – level 2

05-06-2017 15:00

The Paris Agreement is an agreement on reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Trump said that the USA is going to pull back from the agreement.

This made a lot of people angry. People, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Justin Trudeau and Hillary Clinton, tweeted about this. Emmanuel Macron, Australia Greens Party Leader, and the Japanese Environment Minister talked about this. The Japanese Minister said that he was very angry.

However, Americans in coal-mining regions of the USA are happy about this. They want to keep their jobs.

Difficult words: agreement (a deal, a promise, something that you agree to do), greenhouse gas (a gas which makes the planet warmer), emission (the production of something into the air).
