People look for lost things – level 2

05-08-2025 07:00

In Kerr County, Texas, strong floods took many things from people. A woman named Dondie made a group called “Found on the Guadalupe River” to help.

The group started on Facebook. Many people joined and looked for things in the river. They cleaned clothes and saved toys and letters. Some people lost everything. They want to find something small, like a photo or a child’s toy. Volunteers take the things, clean them, and put pictures on the internet. They try to find the people who lost them.

This group gives people hope. Finding one small thing helps people feel better. It reminds them of life before the flood. The volunteers work every day to help their community feel strong again.

Difficult words: join (to take part in an activity or group), volunteer (a person who helps without pay), remind (to help someone remember).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

How does finding a small item like a photo or a child’s toy help people who lost everything?
