Peter Higgs is a famous scientist. He wins the Nobel Prize. He dies last week at the age of 94.

Higgs speaks about the Higgs boson. People often call the Higgs boson the ‘God particle’. This particle gives mass to other particles. It holds the universe together. This is what Higgs believes. Other scientists prove it at CERN in Switzerland many years later.

Higgs is a humble man. Only science is important to him. He does not want to be famous. Finding the Higgs boson is a big thing. Thanks to it, we understand the universe much better.

Difficult words: particle (a very small piece of something), mass (many small things together), prove (to show that something is true).
