Russia celebrity party – level 2

03-01-2024 07:00

In Russia, there was a big problem with a controversial party where people wore very few clothes.

A rapper got in trouble and went to jail for 15 days. Companies stopped contracts with famous people who were at the party. Even President Putin didn’t like the event. The party happened during the war in Ukraine, and many people thought it was wrong. The person who organized the party said sorry two times. Now, she has problems with taxes and might have to pay a lot of money.

Some people say the party was bad because soldiers are fighting, and it is a tough time. It is not appropriate to party like this. People are angry, and they want those who did the party to be punished.

Difficult words: controversial (something what people talk and argue about a lot), contract (a formal agreement between two or more people or organizations), punished (when someone gets a penalty for doing something wrong).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What were some of the consequences faced by the individuals involved in the controversial party in Russia, and what are the opinions and reactions of the general public towards the event?
