The North Pole Marathon

Some people are getting ready for a marathon at the North Pole. A marathon is a long race. The runners are training on a ship. The boat moves, so it is hard to run. But they still run around the boat. It helps them deal with the cold.

The race will be on snow and ice. It will be very cold. One person says that maybe a polar bear will show up!

The runners are happy. They want a long, good course. They are ready to run in the cold.

Difficult words: deal (to handle a situation or problem), show up (when someone arrives at a place and the others can see him), course (the way to follow).
