The Olympic flame is in Italy – level 1

The Olympic flame starts in Rome. At a big sports place, the leader of the country lights the fire. The flame goes to Milan for the Winter Games. This is the beginning of a long trip.
Many sports stars help on the first day. One sportsman gives the torch to another. A basketball player with a hard health problem holds the torch. People clap a lot. It is a strong moment for many people.
Then, the leaders of sports groups take the torch across the city. A tennis player meets many people in a big open place. In the evening, another basketball player takes the flame near a large old building. The flame then goes across all parts of Italy. It will travel around Italy for 63 days.
Difficult words: flame (the bright part of fire), torch (a long stick with fire at one end), clap (to hit your hands together to show that you like something).
