07-04-2025 15:00
Val Kilmer, a famous actor from Top Gun and Batman Forever, died at 65. His daughter said he had pneumonia and died in Los Angeles.
In 2014, Kilmer had throat cancer but got better after treatment. Kilmer acted in many popular movies, and people loved him for his strong performances. He played Jim Morrison in The Doors, a cowboy in Tombstone, and a criminal in Heat. Many people liked his acting, but some directors thought he was hard to work with. Because of this, he got fewer roles in Hollywood. In 2022, he returned in Top Gun: Maverick, playing Iceman again. His character had the same illness he had in real life, which made the scene very emotional.
Many people are sad about his death and remember his great movies, which will continue to be loved for years.
Difficult words: pneumonia (a serious illness which makes it hard to breathe), treatment (medical care), performance (the way someone acts in a movie, play, or show), emotional (showing strong feelings like happiness, sadness, or anger).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What health challenge did Kilmer overcome in 2014, and how did it influence his portrayal in Top Gun: Maverick?
