A university uses AI to make presentations – level 1

25-11-2025 07:00

Students at Staffordshire University are angry. A course uses AI to teach them.

One student, James, tells his teacher that ChatGPT makes the class slides. He does not want a machine to be his teacher. He is sure that AI makes the slides. He can see mistakes, like using American English words. The student says that this makes him and others feel robbed.

The university has a new rule about AI. This rule says that teachers can use AI to help them with their work and in teaching. The student wants them to stop using the AI slides.

Difficult words: slide (a single page in a digital presentation), mistake (a wrong action), robbed (to feel bad because someone takes something what belongs to you, or because something does not happen as it should).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What characteristic of the class slides makes James confident that ChatGPT is generating them?
