A university uses AI to make presentations – level 2
25-11-2025 07:00
Students at the University of Staffordshire say they feel cheated because a digital course uses AI for much of its teaching.
One student, James, spoke to his teacher in a meeting, saying that AI made the class slides for the coding module. He said the teacher didn’t even check the notes well. The student said he doesn’t want AI to teach him and that the use of the slides insults the students’ intelligence because they can easily tell the content is AI-made. He feels the university robs the students of a good education.
The university has a new policy that seems to justify using AI in teaching. This policy gives rules for how teachers can use AI tools to help with their work.
Difficult words: cheated (to feel that something unfair happened to you), coding module (a program that focuses on computer programming, or coding), insult (to say or do something that is offensive), justify (to give a good reason for something).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
Why does James say that using AI-generated slides robs students of a good education?
