Abortion in Chile – level 3

16-01-2018 15:00

Just days before Pope Francis was scheduled to arrive in the Chilean capital, women demanded the right of legal abortion in the country.

They marched through Santiago, recited a prayer they wrote and even screamed over puddles of red paint on the street while squatting to demand the right.

Dressed in black with veils covering their faces, they asked in prayer, ‘Shall it be God, shall it be our father who decides about our bodies?’

Difficult words: demand (request, ask for), puddle (a small pool of liquid), squat (stand, but get closer to the ground by bending your knees apart), veil (a piece of fabric on the face).
