Canadians don’t buy US products – level 1
24-07-2025 07:00
In Canada, many people are not buying American things. They are upset with the US rules and President Trump.
A lot of shops sell more Canadian food and drinks now. People do not want US wine, beer, or other products. Canada puts a 25% tax on US alcohol. Fewer people from Canada are visiting the US. This is bad for shops near the border.
Europe is also buying less from the US. Big US companies like Tesla and McDonald’s are losing customers. Fewer people from Europe are going to the US on vacation. Because of this, the US may lose 90 billion dollars this year.
Difficult words: upset (unhappy and angry), product (a thing to buy or sell), customer (a person who buys something).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What impact have fewer Canadian visitors had on shops near the border?
