Cereals for dinner – level 2

04-03-2024 15:00

Gary Pilnick is the CEO of Kellogg’s, a company which makes cereals. Recently, he said that families which have money problems should consider having cereal for dinner as a cheaper option.

Pilnick said this during an interview, and he explained that cereal is more affordable than other foods. The company wants to promote this idea through advertising. When reporters asked him if this idea could cause problems, Pilnick said that cereal was becoming more popular. He explained that many people eat cereal not just for breakfast but also for dinner or as a snack.

Pilnick’s comments show how Kellogg’s is trying to help people save money during difficult times.

Difficult words: option (one thing which you can choose), affordable (not expensive), promote (to support something or help something become successful).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What does Gary Pilnick's statement during his interview reveal about Kellogg's current marketing strategy and how it relates to saving money?
