Creators in trouble after Australia’s social media ban – level 1
28-11-2025 07:00
Australia will stop children under 16 from using social media on December 10. This rule makes content creators want to move to another country. They say they will lose too much money from advertisers.
A famous YouTuber, Jordan Barclay, plans to leave. He cannot keep his business in Australia if people stop spending money on ads. The law makes companies shut down over a million teen accounts. This means that creators get fewer views and less money. Smaller creators with Australian followers will have the most problems.
Some creators are also worried because the government says that YouTube content is bad for kids. They think that parents will keep children away from their videos.
Difficult words: content creator (a person or company that makes material on the internet), advertiser (a company or person that promotes goods or services, often via media), ad (a public message which promotes a product, service, or event).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
Which content creators are expected to face the biggest problems after over a million teen accounts are shut down?
