Europe stops post to the US

Many European countries will not send parcels to the United States. The reason is a new tax rule.

US President Donald Trump stops a rule which makes small goods free of tax if they cost under 682 euros. Now almost all parcels must pay new taxes. Letters and small parcels under 85 euros can still go.

Germany, Sweden, Denmark, and Italy already stop sending parcels. France, Austria, and the UK will stop soon. Spain says the stop is to keep customers from problems.

The change is bad for small European shops. They sell cheap products to the US, but now it will cost more money.

Difficult words: parcel (a box which you send in the post), tax (money which you must pay to the government), customer (a person who buys things or services from a shop or business).
