Good news of 2025 – level 3

01-01-2026 07:00

In 2025, the world saw many positive changes. Clean energy produced more electricity than coal for the first time.

Countries such as China, India, and many in Europe increased solar and wind power while coal use fell. Several European states closed their last coal plants earlier than planned. As a result, low-carbon energy reached a record share of global electricity. These changes showed that large energy systems can shift in a short time.

Governments also supported people and families. Australia reduced student debt for millions of citizens without long processes. In the United States, New Mexico offered free childcare to all families, which lowered costs and created new jobs. Environmental protection also grew. A very large ocean area received protection, and new forest projects started in Africa and the Americas. These actions helped both nature and the local people.

Science and health have made strong progress. New tools allowed faster tracking of climate pollution. Several animal species recovered after long protection. Doctors approved a malaria treatment for newborn babies and slowed a serious genetic illness. Cancer care became faster and easier. Overall, 2025 proved that clear decisions can improve life worldwide.

Difficult words: shift (a change from one thing to another), citizen (a person who belongs to a country), species (a group of animals or plants that are the same kind).
