IKEA sells less – level 1
21-10-2025 07:00
IKEA sells less furniture this year. It is the second year when sales go down.
The company makes prices lower to help people who have little money. Now, many people go to IKEA shops. They buy more things, but the total money from sales is still smaller. IKEA boss Jon Abrahamsson Ring says that people need low prices because life is expensive.
In America, IKEA makes some prices higher because bringing goods from other countries costs more. Another big IKEA group also sells less but believes that next year will be better.
Difficult words: sale (money from selling things), total (the complete number or amount of something), expensive (something what costs a lot of money).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
Why are IKEA’s total sales still smaller even though more people visit its shops and buy more things?
