Mess in Streets – level 1

24-07-2020 07:00

UK Leeds fans are happy. Their favorite team, Leeds United, returns to the British Premier League. It is a very special moment. The team is back in the league after 16 long years.

The fans come together in the streets of Leeds. They start to celebrate. They drink and dance.

The owner of Leeds United asks people to respect some rules. People must not stay too close to each other. However, happy fans ignore the rules. They celebrate all night.

In the morning, the streets are a mess. Empty cans and bottles are everywhere. Some fans return to the place. They help workers clean up the mess. Two hours later, the streets are clean again.

Difficult words: league (a big group of smaller groups such as sports teams), owner (a person who has something that belongs to him), ignore (to not respect what somebody says or wants), mess (when a place is very dirty).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
