Russian jets fly over Estonia – level 1
23-09-2025 07:00
Three Russian jets fly into Estonia on Friday. They stay for 12 minutes.
Estonia calls NATO for help because the country feels in danger. Poland also says that Russian planes go near a drilling platform in the Baltic Sea. NATO will meet soon to talk about this problem.
Some people say that Russia plans to do this. It is not an accident. One expert says that the planes fly with no safety signal. They do not talk to the ground. He says Russia wants to show that NATO is not strong.
Another expert says that Russia also watches NATO. They want to see how fast NATO planes fly to stop them. Russia uses this to learn more and test NATO.
Difficult words: danger (something that can hurt people or cause harm), drilling platform (a large structure in the sea where people take out oil or gas from the ground), safety signal (a picture, sound, or light which warns people and helps them stay safe).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What purpose does one expert attribute to Russia’s flights without a safety signal?
